Just a little bit of magic

Alright so if you're visiting here you've probably noticed that I've once again changed where all my fics are kept. There was an incident that I won't go into but it prompted me to lock down my fic-community and I immediately went to make this one. Now this is a journal instead of a community which is because this way I can cross-post to my Dreamwidth mirror without any issues, which I couldn't do with a community.

So in the mean time please pardon the dust and issues that may be going on. So here are a few announcements.

• There is currently NO Masterlist for fics. I didn't bring it over yet because all the links would be wrong. I will be redoing soon, maybe tonight maybe sometime next week. I'm exhausted and LJ hates me so it might be a bit trying to do /sigh. I will however get it finished and once it is up it will remain at the TOP of the journal.
• If you need to locate a fic while the Masterlist is not up please use the tagging system. I have imported the tagging system over to help with things
• NONE of the links will be working. Any links to the next chapter/other posts on this journal will take you to the OLD journal which is members-locked at the moment. So please utilize the tagging system to locate the next chapter of a fic but they are all pretty much posted one after another to help with locating them.
• If you find anything that is wrong please tell me and I'll fix it. I was just copying and pasting HTML over so maybe I accidentally pasted the same thing twice, please feel free to comment anywhere and as soon as I get a chance I will fix it.
• My dreamwidth mirror (aya_magic) is going to have ALL of it's posts deleted and I am going to import THIS journal now. Because I couldn't import the community from before I had to use the old posts and systems from my personal journal, meaning things made NO SENSE. This way, at least things will be in proper order.
• The old community will not be deleted. If you want to go back and looks at comments/anything on that journal please feel free to, just know that you have to be a member to see ANYTHING on it.

I know I said I was going to do an update for Christmas but :/ with my health how it was (and still kind of is, ie: complete hell), horrible finals, having my wisdom teeth removed (and the subsequent vicodin-filled daze), and having to deal with my family for an actual, extended period of time I got very little done. Plus my lovely friend who has been giving  me feedback on the fic, that was meant to be the Christmas update, have been having trouble finding spare time to sit down and address/brainstorm solutions for some issues.

I also still have no beta and didn't have the energy to search for one, to be completely honest...

So like I said I'm so sorry ;; I'll try to be better about this. My new goal for this fic: have it prepped and ready to go for posting on my birthday: Feb. 23rd. It can serve a double as my birthday fic and Kame's birthday marker so... we'll see. I just started a new term at uni and things are already exhausting and my health is still fucking with me.

ALSO! I am so sorry for those of you who were sitting around, waiting for confirmation of your member requests for ages and ages :X I know you're probably not reading this BUT I want you guys to know that it is NOT your faults in any way if I don't immediately approve your requests. While I do take a glance at requestees' profiles to see if it's empty that doesn't stop me from approving it. The way I see it, this whole comm is unlocked anyway and if I do member-lock stuff in the future it'll probably be sneak-peeks and whatnot. So basically nothing of importance.

If it takes me a few days/weeks/months to approve your request it's because in the past few months I've just been glancing through my e-mails for stuff that needs immediate attention. If you've ever spoken to me you'll probably have noticed a) I have the memory and attention span of a goldfish and b) I'm a bit ditzy... lol. Chances are I saw your request, thought, "I'll remember to take care of it when I get home." Which resulted in me forgetting and then I'm reminded a few weeks/months later because someone ELSE makes a request and I remember, "Oh shit, did I ever approve that one person's request?" and then check.

So in short if I don't approve your request immediately: do not fret because nothing on this community is locked, it's because I'm forgetful and busy, it's in no way your fault/a consequence of your actions, AND if you start feeling antsy about it/don't want me to forget about you, just send me a PM after you make the request or once you decide it's been too long. I won't be bothered at all if you PM me about this. If anything I'll be happy because chances are I forgot within a few minutes because I'm so scatterbrained about everything and will LOVE the reminder no matter how quickly or late it comes. Plus, because I can't directly see the PM until I log-in to LJ as opposed to in my e-mail (at least I think I can't? It used to be that way) I'll be curious, star it, and then know to look it up later lol.

Oh and once again sorry for my horrible updating tendencies... meaning the nonexistent ones. I'm still in massive Akame writer's block. I've had no trouble whatsoever churning out 40k+ for an HP fic I started on a whim while dazed out of my mind on vicodin.

I honestly can't remember what my tagging system is at the moment, so I'll probably tag this wrong lol...

Just checking in with you guys because a lot of you aren't on my personal f-list and have no idea what's up.

I'm not dead, but I feel pretty close to it. Let's just say my health took a huge downturn and it's most likely very serious, they're still trying to determine what exactly it is.

I'm not completely out of this fandom but I feel like soon I will be. I haven't been writing at all, not in any fandom which is quite rare. Usually when I get writer's block I can write some original fic or other fandoms and be moderately ok but I've basically come to a complete stand-still. I've slowly been pulling further and further from this fandom.

It's quite odd really, lately it almost felt like writing had become a chore of sorts. I had to force myself to get started when before I couldn't wait to start writing, it was something I needed to do regardless of whether I had the time or energy to do it. I went to Yaoi-con in San Francisco recently and I attended a panel there strictly on Overcoming Writer's block. One of the panelists mentioned something I'd been thinking about for a long time. Sometimes you have to remind yourself of why you love writing a certain fandom, sometimes you have to fall back in love with the pairings/characters before you can really do them justice.

Maybe that's what I need, to fall back in love with writing; but as much as I hope it'll happen as the days go on I'm starting to doubt it more and more.

However, before I leave I promised myself there were certain fics I will finish, no matter what it takes. They are: Harry Potter!Akame (charity fic), A la Porchaine Fois' sequel, the Lapis Lazuli tril, and another het!fic charity fic that most of you probably aren't interested in.

I know I have a lot of WIPs etc, and maybe one day I'll be able to finish them but I feel like I have to do these fics before I can make a break from the fandom.

Now, I actually almost have one of those fics ready for posting, I'm currently waiting on feedback on it and then I'll have to find a beta but I plan on having it up on Christmas as a bit of a gift and thank you for you all putting up with me for so long.

I'm not sure if I'll be posting any of my podfics here just yet, once I get the chance/accumulate more recordings I might but for now I'll just keep them over at je_podfic.

Right so now that my masterlist is almost nearly complete I figured I'd post an update about what I'm working on. I obviously have a thing for word-count widgets. I normally use a larger one that's much more interesting but I hardly want to spam your f-list with a huge entry filled with large widgets xD

My first help_japan  fic for becroberts /notaverse 9014 / 15000 words. 60% done!

Second help_japan  fic [het!Jin] for rupsana 1617 / 3000 words. 54% done!

Lapis Lazuli/Selenite's sequel, tentatively named Amethyst.4717 / 8000 words. 59% done!

So hopefully I'll be finishing up these soon and once I have permission to post both help_japan  fics I'll be putting them up here :D Granted... I've been saying this for ages so if you don't believe me I totally understand.

I probably should have done this ages ago but posting of fics as ended over at kizuna_exchange ! If anyone checks this post you should all go read the amazing fics over there, the turnout was brilliant.

Guess the Author has gone up here.  Basically there's a form there and you fill in who you think wrote which fic, reveals go up in a  few days.

I probably shouldn't do this but if anyone can successfully guess which fic was mine I'll write you at least a small something. Keep in mind that I've been writing exceedingly slowly and have a few things piled up right now that HAVE to be finished but I'd do my best to quickly get short drabbles/etc out if anyone guessed. (though I'm still horribly woeful about the fic I wrote).

But, there are 5ish of you that know which fic I wrote (because of brainstorming, betaing, etc) so this offer doesn't apply to you ^^; because that's cheating and I'd probably write something for you even without a real reason so....

In the wake of the LJ outages I, and a few others, have created mirrors for our fics etc over at dreamwidth. This is for the sake of preserving them should anything happen to LJ. I know I have most of my fics on my hard-drive but I don't know if all edits/etc are also there.

Dropped Fics:

No one has commented on this to me but in my inactivity I haven't bothered to address it until now. If you can't find one of my fics from before in this community or at the mirror then it has most likely been dropped/abandoned. There is a chance I either forgot to transfer it here/forgot to open it on the mirror but that's fairly unlikely.

Also, DoL has almost 100% been dropped/abandoned. TJ and I most likely will not be working on it again/finishing it anymore. I still have some pre-written portions but... I doubt they will be posted over at the proper community. The Frog Princes is another one that is up in the air. I would love to finish it but if I did I would most likely completely rewrite it from the beginning and probably change quite a few things. AnD is among these as well, just to make that known.

It's kind of depressing to phrase it in this manner but I'm afraid I should be blunt about it now.

I have officially made an offer at fandom_flood_ap in the written works category. I have little resistance for something for charity ^^; things also fall into a fairly nice timeline. I go home for Spring Break on about the 17th of March and don't return to school until probably the 27th of March. Things tend to be slightly less hectic the first week or two of new classes (so long as you aren't crashing any) so I should have the time to accomplish this.
